This is an experimental film, or a documentary of a performance art.
1 minute is counted by 60 people’s voices. Most of the 60 people don’t know each other, and even won’t know in their life that they have ever shared 1 minute together.
This “1 minute” symbolizes any instant in one’s life. I found all the people randomly, but the result was planned before. In the last section, which is the most important part of the film, I put some sound of sea in accompany of the image of clock, like the current waves are forming the eternal sea…

Description:
A man sits quietly, and then he outstretches his hands to make some movements in the air. After a while, he starts to act as playing a guitar, in consequence a guitar shows up in his hands suddenly, but soon it turns into a broom, a pan,a Chinese cabbage,a dog,a knife……
The film tries to symbolize the roads of becoming artists, or talk about how to find the inner melody of yourself……

Tan Tan is an artist, researcher, musician, and teacher. Currently lives and works in Belgium and China. Since 2010, she has been a lecturer at Hubei Institute Of Fine Arts (Wuhan, China). In 2015, she started a PhD research at Department of Art, Music and Theatre Studies, Ghent University (Gent, Belgium), sponsored by China Scholarship Council (CSC). In the end of 2014, she founded an artist group “TanBo” with Belgium musician/artist Eric Bribosia, this group is focusing on intermedia art and music.
Her oeuvre so far includes experimental film/video art, as well as intermedia arts that combine performance, music and sound art, image, installation, etc. Rituals and time-space transformation are the core subjects of her works, while site-specific performance and hybrid moving image mixed with documentary and fiction are the special forms.
